Now, add details to your sculpture by shaping the dough. For example, create bird feathers or fish scales by snipping into the dough. Create holes along the edge for fun or a cool design. Press cookie cutters into the dough to form the shape you want to follow.
Beat the egg with a tablespoon of water. Using a pastry brush, apply the egg to your sculpture where you want it to be shiny. Add food coloring to the beaten egg if you want to paint on your dough sculpture. The egg wash will also help the seeds and raisins stay where you place them.
