Amplify Unit 4 Thermal Energy Paragraph Summary Assignment
Students are to write a paragraph summary on Amplify Unit 4 Thermal Energy. The paragraph must include summarized key concepts about:
- Temperature and how the kinetic energy of molecules is related to it and how to calculate it. How is it different from thermal energy?
- Thermal energy and how mass and kinetic energy of molecules is related to it and how to calculate it. How is it different from temperature?
- Thermal equilibrium, how kinetic energy is transferred between objects in a system, and how thermal energy can affect thermal equilibrium.
Students must also use all 10 of the unit vocabulary terms correctly. Misuse of the vocabulary will result in points being deducted. Students should underline, bold, or highlight the vocabulary terms in their paragraph:
- average
- collision
- equilibrium
- kinetic energy
- molecule
- stability
- system
- temperature
- thermal energy
- transfer
The paragraph should be clear, easy to understand, and flow smoothly. If the sentences are just pieced together without any flow then points will be deducted.
Lastly, the students should use at least two examples or evidence to support their ideas. This can include real life or simulated examples we discussed in class or evidence gathered from articles.
Final submission will be submitted in Class Companion.
