What are some other systems (besides a cup) where you think adding or removing a cover would affect the amount of liquid in the system over time and/or affect the temperature of that liquid?

If we could completely seal off the cup so no matter could get in or out, do you think the temperature of the liquid inside would still change if the liquid were cold water? Hot water? Why?

Make a prediction for what would happen to the mass of the cup if it contained cold water. Explain your reasoning.
