Element Superhero Biography Assignment

Create a superhero character based on a chemical element from the periodic table. Your superhero's story and abilities should be inspired by real scientific facts about the element. Use your research to answer each part below. Be creative, but make sure your answers are accurate and based on the properties and uses of the element you choose.

Answer each part below in complete sentences. Use your research about your chosen element to support your answers. Be sure to include specific details about the element's properties, uses, and where it is found.

Describe your superhero's origin story. How did your hero come into being? Use the history of your element's discovery or where it is naturally found or manufactured as inspiration. How did your hero get their powers? Does your hero have a special costume? Explain.

List and explain at least four superpowers your hero has. For each superpower, describe the physical or chemical property of your element that inspired it. Be sure to explain the source of each power.

Describe whether your superhero uses their powers for good or evil. How does your hero influence plants, animals, or the environment? Use real-life uses or effects of your element to support your answer.

Short answer

What is your superhero's weakness? Explain how this weakness is related to a property of your element. Also, name at least two other element-heroes your superhero can combine with to increase their power. What compounds do they form together, and how do these combinations make your hero stronger?
