In this assignment, you will design what you believe to be the best form of government for a hypothetical country. You must select a location in the world for your country and explain your choices for government structure, leadership selection, power distribution, and economic system. Be sure to provide clear reasoning for each decision, referencing what makes your choices effective and why other options may not work as well.

Answer the following questions in detail. Use complete sentences and provide thoughtful explanations for each of your choices. You may use bullet points for lists, but each answer should include at least one paragraph of explanation.

Where in the world are you choosing to have your country? (This should be a rough geographic area, such as Central Europe, Southern Africa, etc.) List any notable features that are close to or included in your country (such as coastlines, major rivers, or mountain ranges). How will your country select its leader? Describe the process and explain why you think this method is best for your government and people. What makes your process unique or effective compared to other systems?

What system of power sharing will you have (unitary, federal, confederal)? Where does most power reside in your country and why? Why do you think other systems would not work as well?

What type of economy will your country use? (Choose from: communism, socialism, capitalism, or a mix.) What are the parts you would want to see the government involved in, and what areas would you leave to private individuals or businesses? Based on your country’s location, what natural resources would help your economy? Would you use these resources to trade with other countries? Explain your reasoning.
