Narrative Writing: Native Legend
After reading a Native legend of your choice (or on Epic), you will create a video retelling of the legend. You must write a script to read or refer to while recording. Your video should include sound effects and a natural background for effect. Be sure to hold up the book to show your audience the cover, and you may go through the pages to show illustrations as well.
Question 1
After reading a Native legend of your choice (or on Epic), please use your video camera feature on your Chromebook to record yourself in a retelling of the legend. You will write out a script to read or refer to while recording.
Be sure to include the following in your script:
- Name of legend
- Author and illustrator
- Tribe and/or region your legend is from
- Summarize the legend by giving us the basic beginning, middle, and end of the story without rereading the whole legend to us
- What is the moral (or lesson) that the legend was meant to teach or explain?
