Biography Writing Assignment
Write a biography about a person of your choice. Follow the paragraph guidelines below to structure your essay. Be sure to answer all the questions in each paragraph.
Question 1
Write a biography essay that includes the following paragraphs:
1st paragraph: Introduce the person and explain why you chose to write about them. What is the one most famous thing they are known for? Did they have a nickname like the “Wizard of Menlo Park”?
2nd paragraph (early life): When and where was your person born? What were some of the events that helped to shape the adult that they were to become? Who did they meet early in their life that helped them to become famous?
3rd paragraph (major accomplishments): What did they do to become known to most of the world? How did they achieve their fame and fortune? What do we still use from them today?
4th paragraph (awards; end of life): Did they ever receive awards or a “hall of fame” for their life’s work? When, where, and how did they die? How were they honored following their death? Why are they still important today?
