Argumentative Essay: Taking a Stand (copy)

In this assignment, you will write a 5-paragraph argumentative essay on a topic of your choice. Your essay should clearly state your opinion (claim), provide reasons and evidence to support your claim. You must include information from at least two sources and use text evidence to support your argument. Remember to cite your sources. Follow the structure below:

  1. Introduction (with thesis statement/claim)
  2. Reason 1 with evidence
  3. Reason 2 with evidence
  4. Reason 3 with evidence
  5. Conclusion

Be sure to organize your ideas clearly and use proper grammar and punctuation.

Choose a topic for the 3 in the slides. Plan and write a 5-paragraph argumentative essay following the instructions above. Use at least two sources to find facts or examples that support your reasons. Be sure to include text evidence (quotes or paraphrased information) from your sources, and cite them in your essay. Make sure to use transition words in paragraphs.
