You're only really alive if you're aware of who you are and act like yourself. You are independent, happy, and never bored, which is important because life is short.  If you conform, if you do things just because other people do them, a lethargy takes over your soul. Life slips past you in a kind of dream. On the outside, you're all show, and on the inside, you're empty, callous, and indifferent. 

Assignment: 
Is it important to always be yourself or are there times when it is important to conform? After considering the prompt and creating a plan for your essay, write a multi-paragraph essay (300-600) that presents your point of view. Support your position with logical reasoning and examples drawn from your reading, education, personal experience, and/or observations.
