Revisit the ideas presented in the last two articles about technology in education. Then, respond to the following prompt with a clear claim, relevant evidence, and analysis.

Essay

Prompt: Are the concerns regarding artificial intelligence in education valid? Support your argument with evidence from the text and solid reasoning.

Success Criteria for CEA Writing Practice

Thesis (T)/ Claim

  • T1: Author and title of text should be included
  • T2: Keywords or phrases from the prompt should be included
  • T3: Clear argument that should answer the prompt
  • T4: Clearly state reasons to support argument
  • T5: One to two sentences; concise and to the point

Evidence (E)

  • E1: Evidence should be specific; provide detailed information
  • E2: Well-chosen evidence that should provide clear support of the argument
  • E3: Well-developed lead-in that should include pertinent who, what, when, where
  • E4: Lead-in should provide background information and not repeat the quote
  • E5: Parenthetical citation should include author’s last name or title and location (page #)
  • E6: Evidence sentence should follow correct format (Transition + lead-in + quote or paraphrase + citation)

Analysis (A)/Reasoning/Explanation

  • A1: Analysis should infer understanding not directly stated in the evidence.
  • A2: Minimum of two analysis sentences used to support reasoning
  • A3: Analysis sentences should draw connections between the evidence and claim
  • A4: Analysis should explain why this information is true, necessary, needed, etc. Prove the validity of the claim.
  • A5: Explanation should not be surface-level; make sophisticated inferences
