Lab: Patient Diagnosis
Use the data you collected from the first lab to write about one of the patients you diagnosed. Follow the 'claim, evidence, reasoning' format to explain the patient's condition, the evidence that supported that diagnosis, and the reasoning behind it. Your final paragraph should be typed in MS Word format and will be checked for plagiarism, so ensure everything is in your own words.
Question 1
Now that you have completed the first lab, use the data you collected to write about one of the patients you diagnosed. You will use “claim, evidence, reasoning” format to explain the patient’s condition, the evidence that supported that diagnosis, and the reasoning behind it.
Your final paragraph should be typed in MS Word format. It will be checked for plagiarism, so make sure everything is in your own words.
Claim: In one sentence, tell which patient you treated and state your diagnosis. Example: After examining Patient G, it is clear that he has COVID-19.
Evidence: In 2-3 sentences, explain the lab procedure. Then, cite three pieces of evidence (test results, symptoms etc.) that support your diagnosis. When stating your test results, be sure to tell me what the results mean (e.g. levels are too high or too low) and not just what color they turned. Example: The ferratin test turned bright pink, which means the patient’s iron level is extremely low.
Reasoning: Now, explain why this evidence supports diagnosis. You should also explain other conditions that you may have considered, but rejected. (How do you know it wasn’t some other disease or condition?) What is the outlook for this patient? How can this condition be treated?
