Exemplary Response: [This is Juliet narrating Act II, Scene II]
Dear Diary,
Tonight was a night like no other. As I stood on my balcony, I saw Romeo gazing up at me, and I couldn't help but think, "O, that I were a glove upon that hand, that I might touch that cheek!" It felt as if the stars aligned just for us. I told him that "What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." My heart raced as he declared his love, and I felt a rush of hope despite our families' feud. I long for our love to bloom, yet I fear the danger it brings. Romeo and I belong together, and I would give up my name for him. I wonder what tomorrow will bring, but for now, I cherish this sweet night.
Non-Exemplary Response: [same scene]
Dear Diary,
Today was weird. I saw Romeo outside my window. He said something about a rose. I guess he likes me or something. I told him he could just change his name if he wanted to be with me. I don’t really understand why we can’t just be together. It seems like my family is always in the way. I hope we can talk more tomorrow.
