The Crash
When the family finished eating lunch, Felipe ran outside to look for bugs. His brother Henry went outside to kick a soccer ball around.
But then Dad called them back into the house. “Boys, you forgot to help clean up the table,” he said.
Henry walked in with his soccer ball and dropped it on the kitchen floor. As it rolled away, he picked up two glasses from the table.
Felipe trotted inside and grabbed two plates from the table. He hurried to the sink as fast as he could. He wanted to get back outside. But Felipe was hurrying so much that he did not see the soccer ball roll in front of him. He tripped over it, and the plates went flying out of his hands. They hit the floor with a loud crash.
The boys stood frozen, looking at the mess.
Dad handed the boys a broom and a dustpan. “Now you have even more cleaning up to do,” he said.
