Argumentative Writing Project
Question 1
Argumentative writing Project
In our last unit, we learned to analyze and evaluate how writers and speakers use persuasive appeals to convince their audience of their claim or stance. While we have viewed and analyzed many examples of how the media, advertisers, and politicians use these appeals to convince others how they believe problems need to be tackled, now it is your turn to offer your own researched, persuasive perspective on a solution to a current problem. This problem should be one that has recently come into the spotlight, gaining attention (or at least some different attention) in the past three years.
You will be working individually to craft an argumentative writing piece using at least three reliable sources, which answers the research question:
What is a systemic issue that was brought to light in the past three years, and what is the best solution for fixing that issue?
Your project should be well-organized and engaging and can be any format you chose (see ideas below). In addition, because this an argumentative writing piece, you will want to use persuasive appeals to prove your claim (logos, ethos, and pathos) while avoiding logical fallacies and rebutting counterclaims. Whatever you create, you should prepare at least 7500 words of writing
