Understanding Author's Purpose: P.I.E.

In this assignment, you will learn about the different reasons why authors write. Authors write to Persuade, Inform, or Entertain. We call this P.I.E. Let's find out if you can tell the difference!

In this section, you will read short passages and decide if the author's purpose is to Persuade, Inform, or Entertain. Remember, Persuade means the author wants you to do or believe something, Inform means the author is giving you facts, and Entertain means the author wants to make you enjoy the story.
