For this assignment, you will select a civilization or a specific time period (with a specific country) and complete a report on its features. Do not choose a religion as your topic. For each feature listed, answer the prompt in 2-3 sentences, providing specific examples and fully addressing the question. Pay attention to instructions about specificity and avoid listing a country when a city is requested. Your responses should demonstrate understanding and provide concrete details. Begin with an introduction paragraph (5-7 sentences) explaining the basics of your chosen time period as if to a middle schooler.

BELIEF STRUCTURE: What did they believe in and basic explanation? What was the role of religion at that time (how did it impact what was happening)?

INFRASTRUCTURE: What roads, bridges, canals, etc. were created to support the people (usually by government)?

GOVERNMENT: Who had the power and how was it organized?

JOBS: What were some common jobs that show the changes in that time? (Do not list slave, soldier, or farmer. Think specific to the time.)

ART AND ARCHITECTURE: Provide a specific example of a piece and explain why it’s a reflection of the time.

TECHNOLOGY: Describe a new tool or innovative technique of the time period.

EXTRA TIME (Leisure), EDUCATION: Since basic needs are met, what are some “fun things” unique to this time period OR how did they educate the youth?

CITIES: What was the main city of the time period and why was it important? (Do not list a country for a city.)
