Analysis of Orwell's 1984: Themes and Character Messages

A formal essay that reflects the application of your planning process in relation to one of the two following prompts:
Using evidence from the novel, discuss what you believe to be Orwell’s predominant theme in 1984. 
Using evidence from the novel, discuss how Orwell utilizes a specific character to present a distinct message. 

Essay Criteria
5 paragraph essay. 
Introduction paragraph will be expected to: Move from general topic to specific argumentative stance while providing complete context for your essay. Paragraph will conclude with thesis statement. Thesis statement will be underlined. 
Each body paragraph will be expected to: Begin with an underlined topic sentence that clearly states the main point you will be arguing in that section of your paper. Utilize properly cited textual evidence that supports your position. Provide a detailed explanation that analyzes the quote in conjunction with your topic sentence and thesis statement.  All body paragraphs should aim to strengthen your main argument.  Avoid summary and redundancy. 
 Conclusion paragraph will be expected to: begin with a Rephrasing of your thesis statement. Highlight the main topics discussed in your paper. Strive to provoke further thought on the subject.  
Conventions: This is a formal essay.  You are expected to revise for errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation, word choice, etc.
