Question 1

Essay

The essay style is to be persuasive. This means you should attempt to convince the reader to take an action or a stance. You will follow the P.E.E. method (Point, Example, Explain )

Here are the steps to guide students in crafting an academic persuasive essay:

  1. Choose a Topic: Select a topic that interests you and is suitable for a persuasive essay. Ensure it is debatable and has sufficient evidence to support different viewpoints.

  2. Conduct Research: Gather information from credible sources such as academic journals, books, and reputable websites. Collect evidence, statistics, and examples to support your argument.

  3. Understand Your Audience: Consider the perspectives and beliefs of your target audience. Tailor your argument to appeal to their values and interests.

  4. Craft a Strong Thesis Statement: Develop a clear and concise thesis statement that presents your argument and previews the main points you will discuss in the essay.

  5. Outline Your Essay: Create an outline to organize your ideas and structure your essay effectively. Include an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each body paragraph should focus on a single point supporting your thesis.

  6. Write the Introduction: Start with an attention-grabbing hook to engage readers. Provide background information on the topic and present your thesis statement.

  7. Develop Body Paragraphs: Each body paragraph should begin with a topic sentence that introduces the main point. Support your argument with evidence, examples, and logical reasoning. Use transitional phrases to connect ideas and ensure coherence.

  8. Address Counterarguments: Acknowledge opposing viewpoints and refute them with evidence and reasoning. Anticipating and addressing counterarguments strengthens your argument and demonstrates critical thinking.

  9. Write the Conclusion: Summarize your main points and restate your thesis in the conclusion. End with a call to action where you ask the reader to take a direct course of action. Don't /Do something

  10. Revise and Edit: Review your essay for clarity, coherence, and persuasiveness. Ensure your writing is well-organized, concise, and free of grammar and spelling errors. Seek feedback from peers or instructors and make revisions accordingly.

  11. Cite Your Sources: Provide proper citations for all sources used in your essay to avoid plagiarism. Follow the appropriate citation style (e.g., APA, MLA) as per your instructor's guidelines.

  12. Finalize Your Essay: Make any final adjustments and proofread your essay one last time before submission. Ensure it meets all assignment requirements and adheres to academic standards.
