(3) The fur is not only thick but also white, which helps the bear blend in with the snow. (4)This is called camouflage. (5) Another animal with interesting adaptations is the camel. (6) Camels live in the hot desert and can go a long time without water. (7)They have humps on their backs that store fat. (8)The fat be converted to water when needed. (9) Also, their long eyelashes protect their eyes from sand. (10) Birds have adaptations too. (11) Some birds have long beaks to help them reach food in deep flowers. (12) Others have strong beaks for cracking nuts. (13) Fish have gills that let them breathe underwater. (14) This is important because fish live in water. (15) Without gills, fish would not be able to survive. (16) Some fish can even change colors to hide from predators. (17)This is another form of camouflage. (18) In conclusion, adaptations are important for animals to survive. (19) They help animals find food, stay safe, and live in different environments.
