Persuade Me: Climate Change Essay

Your assignment for this unit is to write a persuasive paper on climate change using many of the resources / sources I offered during the climate change debate. I recommend you stay with your pro / con stance from the debate, but if you feel more comfortable switching sides, you may do so. You will be trying to convince me that either climate change is real and happening, or that it is not.  You are not just saying what you think,  you are also providing a counter point (anti-argument) that you will be able to defend in your paper.

Think about this question and find sources to back up whatever claim you are going with:

Are humans causing global climate change, or is bad science creating a scare?

To answer this question, either FOR (you agree that climate change is real and happening) or AGAINST (you don't think climate change is happening and it is fake), use one or both of the argument graphic organizers to plan how you will approach your topic.  You can select either side of the argument and build your argument to support your claim.  This is similar to the CER response that we used at the beginning of the year.

You will have access to:

In recent years, the debate over climate change has intensified. While some argue that human activity is the primary cause, others believe that natural cycles play a significant role. This disagreement has led to varied responses from governments and organizations worldwide, with some implementing strict environmental regulations and others taking a more cautious approach.
