[Careers] Crafting an Effective Elevator Pitch (Written Draft and Video)

Elevator pitches are essential tools for cultivating a career in tech. This assignment will reinforce the class lessons while also serving as the foundation for future video recording assignments.

Create a written draft of an elevator pitch, and then record a video of the elevator pitch that’s 30-45 seconds, based on the guidelines discussed in class- using a mobile device or a laptop.

Be sure to be dressed business casual in the video

Be sure to include Background, Strengths/Accomplishments, Goals and 1 “Ask” (e.g. I hope to connect with Bootcamp grads who are now Software Engineers at Google)

Upload the video file to your Google Drive (preferred) OR upload to YouTube with the setting, “anyone with the link can view”

Copy the shareable link to the video and then submit link to the Learning Management System (Canvas)/Google Classroom

Be sure sharing settings allow for instructors to view your videos

Also, paste written text draft into the Learning Management System/Google Classroom - in the comments section suffices.
