Term 3_ English _ Part 4- Inference and Justification

Read the passage about Aisha and the "Noor Al Dar" group on Al Reem Island. Answer the inference and justification questions that follow. Use evidence from the text to support your answers.

The hot Abu Dhabi sun shone on the dry spots where green gardens used to be on Al Reem Island. Aisha, who studies sea animals, saw that people were getting worried because they weren't seeing as many baby turtles coming to lay eggs. They thought it was because of too many bright lights confusing the baby turtles when they tried to go to the sea. It wasn't just about fewer turtles; it felt like their island was losing something important.

Aisha and her neighbors were really worried, so they started a group called “Noor Al Dar” (Light of the Home) to use better lights. They didn't tell people they had to change; instead, they taught them and worked together. They showed people special yellow lights that were good for turtles and explained why they were better than bright white lights. They also worked with shops and companies, talking about why it was important for nature and even showing them cheaper options. Kids drew sad pictures of turtles trying to find the sea, and these were put up in shops.

Slowly, things started to get better on the island. People changed their outside lights, buildings used softer lights, and even building sites used covers on their lights when the turtles were nesting. This change wasn't fast, but it kept happening because everyone felt it was their job to help, not because they were forced to. Aisha saw more baby turtle tracks on the beach in the mornings. It wasn't a big announcement, but the turtles coming back showed that what they did together was working. “Noor Al Dar” was more than just saving turtles; it helped everyone on the island care about and protect their special nature, one soft light at a time. The way they worked together showed that when people want to help and feel responsible, it really works to make things better for the environment in a place like their modern island city.
